This year the flax plants and Kangaroo Paws at gracedale yarra valley have been exceptional and the honeyeaters are having a lovely time in the garden.  It's such a beautiful sight first thing in the morning whilst we eat our breakfast watching them enjoying their breakfast and of course they keep at it throughout the day!

Healesville Railway Heritage Festival 2011

Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 September 2011, 10:00am - 4:00pm.

Healesville is set to turn back the clock with the Yarra Valley Railway playing host to the 3^nd Annual Healesville Railway Heritage Festival.

Highlights of the weekend will include a vintage bus operating free shuttle trips into town, beautifully restored steam road engines and some of the state’s most talented blacksmiths at work.

The festival caters to an incredibly diverse range of interests and is the perfect way to kick off the school holidays and educate the next generation about the machines and lifestyles of past era.Entry to this incredible day out is by $5 per person and children under 12yrs are free with all proceeds used to help further the restoration of the volunteer driven Yarra Valley Railway.

A perfect way to prepare for a wedding

This weekend we had the pleasure of having Elise and her bridal party stay with us.
They spent a relaxing Friday night together and a very busy Saturday preparing for the wedding.  And don't they look beautiful?

Steavenson Falls - Marysville

Today we went for a drive up the beautiful Black Spur and visited Marysville.  From gracedale it only took us 40 minutes and after a walk around the Sunday market, we checked out all the new shops, including the lolly shop (can't resist) followed by a bite of lunch. It took 10 minutes to reach Steavenson Falls, one of Victoria's tallest falls.  The walk from the car park is very easy and enjoyable, it's a wide track however flat shoes would be preferable.  Take time to sit on the seats at the newly constructed lookout and enjoy the magic and power of mother nature!   

Yarra Glen Artshow & Marketplace Event

Celebrating 10 years - March 11 - 14 Labour Day weekend, Friday to Monday 10am - 5pm.
The Yarra Glen Artshow has proven to be an important event for artists in the Yarra Valley, showcasing the best artwork in the region to over 3,000 visitors.
This year the show is introducing the Marketplace giving an opportunity to show and sell the art work of artisans, other than painting and sculpture works, expanding the show to works in the categories of gardenware, homeware and artwear including accessories.
